Winter Thaw shawl revisited

After almost a year, this shawl is done and dusted ! I’ll be putting together a pattern to go to test-knitters (thanks to everybody who offered to test knit!) and then I’ll release the pattern, for free.
This version is knitted using my Kidsilk lace in Ink colourway and it uses about 1 and 1/3 skeins – and it is big!

I’ve modified the original shawl, I added more elaborate edging, I think it suits the shawl much better. It is also really interesting to knit. The large hole is formed by 5 yarn overs.

The fabric is light, airy and delicate. I love how the Kidsilk holds blocking – I got rained on wearing this shawl and it still looks perfect.

The yarn will be featured in March-April-May lace club, get your subscription while you can! (there will be enough to knit the full sized shawl – 2 skeins)
